Eminem is no fan of Trump's, and has excoriated him in a video that has so far as I know elicited no response from the president. But when Jay-Z gives it a go he's suddenly in a Twitter war with Trump on the topic of black unemployment. I'm racking my brains trying to figure out whether there is a way to take a guess at which of his critics Trump will or won't pick a fight with. Among rappers, he passes on Eminem, lashes out at Jay-Z. In the world of sports, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr are off his radar, but not Stephen Curry, and his shit list is practically headed by Colin Kaepernick. Thinking, thinking . . . no, can't come up with anything.
I do have an opinion, however, on the merits of the president's spat with Jay-Z. The above graph shows the unemployment rate for African-Americans over the past dozen years. Suppose this graph showed up on a standardized test given to 4th graders to determine whether their powers of analysis and critical thinking are at grade level or not. Below the graph is the question:
Which of the following statements is best supported by the data shown in the above graph?
A. Policies implemented in 2017 contributed to a decline in the African-American unemployment rate.
B. Policies implemented six or more years ago contributed to a decline in the African-American unemployment rate.
If you chose option B. . . . ding, ding, ding, ding!
