Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States, in elevated colloquy with Chris Wallace of Fox News.
I'm not sure whether this is hilarious or pathetic. I suppose another option, considering he's president, might be alarming. In another part of the interview, Trump goes on an extended riff about how all our coronavirus cases are the result of a testing regimen the likes of which the world has never seen, etc., etc. Wallace allows him to clatter on for a bit before interjecting that "testing is up 37% but cases are up 194%," thereby causing Trump to set sail on a new course of nonsense. I wish Wallace had said, "I suppose you also believe you're not fat until you step on a scale." He did pretty well, however. The transcript doesn't convey his evident bemusement—the twinkle in his eye, for example, when he answers one of the "hard" questions, "Ninety-three."
